This week we look at Ridepro Suspension, give you some great information on Suspension and check out our NEW products.
This week we look at the Ridepro 4x4 Suspension System.
One of the most common modification a 4X4 offroader invests in is a lift kit. With a range of large, 41mm piston Shock Absorbers, Coil and Leaf Springs, Steering Stabilisers, Torsion Bars, Swaybars, Polyurethane bushes and shackles, this system has been designed for up to 50mm lift from standard ride heights.
Designed and developed in Australia for local conditions, RoxShocks by Ridepro are put through extremely rigorous function, performance, quality and durability tests. RoxShocks have tackled some of the most feared and rugged 4 wheel drive courses in the country and overseas.
Ridepro lift kits are reliable, well priced and comfy.
You can view their range HERE, or, feel free to contact us to discuss your 4WD needs and how we can help you.
ORC 4WD ADVICE
As we are looking at the Ridepro Suspension Kits today, it's only appropriate that we give you some great Suspension Tips.
So, why should you increase the ride height?
By replacing your 4WD's existing components (coil or leaf springs) with longer coils or more highly cambered leaves, it's possible to gain greater wheel travel.
This allows your 4WD to keep tyre traction on terrain while keeping the body or chassis areas away from stumps, rocks, ledges etc so it doesn't get stuck. Buying the correct system for your vehicle also improves cornering by minimising sway and body roll increasing ride and passenger comfort.
It is important to note, you need to fit ‘long travel’ shock absorbers if you increase the static ride height of a 4WD.
How high should you go?
50mm or 2 inches is the maximum we lift any of our four wheel drives. In 2009 the Qld Government introduced legislation requiring engineering compliance to accompany any lift greater than 50mm. Our experience suggests that this is about all that is required to enable a car to tackle difficult terrain while maintaining a good level of practicality and servicability.
We can help you!
The choice of 4WD suspension lifts and whether or not to add one to your car will always come down to a compromise between ride comfort and practicality.
Taller suspension is definitely a bonus off road, where the ability to crawl over large obstacles can be the difference between getting stuck or moving on. In addition, 4WD's carrying a lot of weight benifit from increased lift with additional load carrying capacity and better handling.
We are very happy to discuss any of your suspension requirements, whether you're after a lift or replacement kit we will find one to suit your needs.
